Young Chicon: Yes, it is. And I don't think I'm gonna leave.

What is it that you do exactly?

Young Chicon: I am a rapper/ song writer. I mainly rap, but I also write in the pop, rock, r&b, and country genres
for singers. I love songwriting- especially for singers. I rap about everything, but most of my songs are love songs.

 Who are your musical influences?

Young Chicon: I would have to say Lil Wayne, Drake, Wale, Kendrick Lamar, Trey Songz, Maroon 5.

How long have you been rapping?

Young Chicon: I have been rapping for five years but have wanted to be in the music business since I was 7. DREAM BIG KIDS, YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Do you have a stage name?

Young Chicon: The stage name is Young Chicon, my real name is Devin Elias Ocasio, my old stage name was first DEO, then Wordplay,
but I found out that those names were taken so I came up with an original. Young means Young, LOL, and Chicon means "Chicago Icon."

What is your birth given name?

Young Chicon: I mentioned my birth name already, it's Devin Elias Ocasio, however, I always thought I looked more like a Mario.

Can you tell me a little bit  about yourself?

Young Chicon: Well, I am a very caring person. Me and my record label are currently doing a Likes 4 Breast Cancer event where if you LIKE our page we will donate
ten cents put of our pocket towards Breast Cancer awareness. I love to teach kids about music and get them started. I love to write for women especially. I am ADHD but I do not let
it effect my success at all. I push through it. Message to ADHD victims: It may be hard to live with, but its not impossible. Love you guys. But yeah, I would say that I'm self-reserved, still on the hunt for Mrs. Chicon, thought I found her 6 years ago, 6 years wasted. LOL. But like the BEAR I am, I'm back on the hunt. I love comedies, I love Grimm, If you are a Grimmster please comment with your fave episode. I love what I do and I do it because I love it and I live by a self-made motto- "Don't just be iconic, be CHICONIC."

Are you seeing a profit from your artistic talents?

Young Chicon: As of right now my music is like your books- Not seeing much profit but hope to soon. Nevertheless, money isn't my main concern. Its like Jesse J said, "We just wanna make the world dance, forget about the price tag." I rest my case. Any other questions?

Interview with Annette Bower

Where are you from?

I grew up and attended elementary school, high school, nurses’ training and University in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
If you go to this website and look at the you tube picture of Regina, my condo building is in the frame.

Is that where you and your family reside now?

Yes, my husband and I returned to the city in 2004. One son and his family live here and both my husband’s and my extended family. So this is home.
Another son and his family live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia because he is a member of the Canadian Navy. http://www.vancouverisland.com/regions/towns/?townID=20

How long have you been writing?

I have been writing for a long time. According to my family I was a tattletale but I remember the accolades of a well told story. I wrote poems as a teenager and young adult, but I always enjoyed reading romance and women’s fiction. When I was having a rough day as a young mother, my husband would bring home a series romance novel. I could escape and explore another world for a short time. I started attending classes and workshops while my children were young. As you can tell by my family history they are now married with families of their own so I have been at this a long time.

What kind of writer would you describe yourself as?

I am a pantser. I have not embraced plot outlines. I get an idea and then I research and write in clouds around it. I have a female character in mind then I have to people her world and find her love interest.
I also enjoy writing short stories. I’ve had approximately two dozen published. I also enjoy the challenge of a flash fiction story with a beginning middle and end in one hundred words.
But short or long, women’s stories, the community and love that surround them are my passion.

Do you have any other interests?

My friends call me the research queen. They mention something and I’ll be on the computer and find the information for them. Or because I have an inquiring mind, I have researched many subjects in the past.
I was a nurse, office administrator, teacher’s assistant, volunteer, and town councilor and adult university student, so I have many life experiences from which to glean.
I also love to walk and bicycle ride. Either at home or away, I explore thrift shops. I examine what the communities donate to the poor. I think I can tell a great deal about a community by the items on the shelves and clothing racks.

Do you have any websites and or book links that you would like to share?

What can you tell me about yourself that we haven't covered?

When I’m not writing I’m learning about how to promote myself as an author of electronic published books. It’s like selling a piece of land in a far off place. Readers need to have imagination and the tools to explore this new and fast growing method of reading. I know that many readers love a book to hold but my books are contained in a computer chip of sort, whether it is on an e reader or a computer.

Moving On, A Prairie Romance, released Dec. 2011, is a one flame G-rated novel set in Regina Beach, SK. http://www.reginabeach.ca/ .

Anna is Moving On she will not love Nick. She won’t risk it. But he has other plans.

Woman of Substance, released Dec. 2012, is one flame, G-rated novel set in Regina, SK.
Robbie deceives Jake for all the right reasons. She needs him to forgive her for love.
Barns and Noble: http://tinyurl.com/dyxjguk
Soul Mate Publishing: http://tinyurl.com/c3s23ns

What are your future goals with your writing?

I’m clouding the first draft of a new novel. I know it will have love, community and a strong woman character as well as a good man.

Is there any other genres that you would like to try?

I very much want to learn how to write what are referred to as quick read books. These are novellas for adults who struggle with literacy, ESL, or reluctant readers. http://orcabook.com/rapid-reads.com/
My first novel Moving On, A Prairie Romance is as close as I have come. One reader told me that she had stopped reading until she read my book. She returned to reading and is now reading to her grandchildren. This is very rewarding for me as an author.

Are your books both Ebooks and paperback?

Moving On, A Prairie Romance and Woman of Substance are Ebooks.
Woman of Substance will also be a paperback later in 2013. Soul Mate Publishing offers paperback about nine months after the release of the electronic version.
However I have many short stories in magazines and anthologies that are printed.
The anthologies are listed on my webpage: http://www.annettebower.com/books.html

How long have you been published?

My first short story, Another Mae Day was published in TRANSITION in the spring of 2002. http://www.cmhask.com/inside/publications.htm This is a good place to submit stories for publication.

Do you have a literary agent?

No, and at this point in my career he or she wouldn’t eat very well from my profits.

Do you have an editor?

I have had editors for most of my publications, the short stories as well as both novels.
Both XoXo Publishing™ and Soul Mate Publishing are publishers who provide editors for your novels.

What companies have you used for publishing?

I have been published by XoXo Publishing ™ out of Toronto, Canada http://www.xoxopublishing.com/Products/ and Soul Mate Publishing out of New York, http://www.soulmatepublishing.com/ .

Would you use them again?

Yes, I have published a very short story with XoXo Publishing for the Christmas season.
Christmas Wishes is part of their Hugs series: http://www.tinyurl.com/ayglyaz

I am sure I will but it is never a guarantee of acceptance. All manuscripts have to go through the right departments and be appropriate for the publisher and the quality of their publications.
Both publishers have contracts and honor them.

Have you begun to see a profit from your writing?

I have received payments for my short stories and royalty money from my novels. I also spend money like any business on promotions such as review tours etc. Advertising books gets them noticed and today the expenses overshadow the royalties.

Have you held any book signings?

I have been involved in book signings for the published anthologies. They are always so much fun. However, I have not had a signing event for my novels. Yet! If I am accepted to the RWA “Readers for Life” Literacy Autographing at the RWA Conference in Atlanta, Georgia on July 17, 2013 then I will be there with new pens and a big smile.

I enjoy reading at any event that I can. There are local opportunities and one day I hope to read in other major cities in Canada, the United States and perhaps even other countries in the world. I do enjoy travelling.

Whew the end. The readers will wonder if I could have told this story in one hundred words.
Now that is an experiment I have to try.

Interview with David Marrocco

 Where are you from ?

I am from Rhode Island.
Is that where you and your family reside now?
I have lived in Rhode Island my whole life, and currently reside in North Scituate, with my wife, daughter, and dog! A rural area of the state.
How long have you been writing?
I have been seriously writing since 2008. Before that, it was just for fun.
What kind of writer would you describe yourself as?
I like to think of myself as a prince, preparing to become a king. I am putting down the ground work, and the blood, sweat, and tears, to one day walk down that royal red carpet of the writing world. I think I will be considered the greatest writer of the 21st century, when it is all said and done, he he.
Do you have any websites and or book links that you would like to share?
  http://sbpra.com/DavidMarrocco/ http://www.facebook.com/AShiftInPerception
Do you have any other interests?

I have been in the liquor industry for seventeen years and like to bowl now and again.

What can you tell me about yourself that we haven't covered?
I am first and foremost a man of faith and of God. After my near fatal accident in 2007, I was born again and had a new found energy to do something special with my life. I also am a major advocate for keeping the homeless off the streets. I hope to have my own shelter within the next couple of years.
My time is precious to me. Whenever I have extra time to spend with my family, I take advantage of it! I work many hours, so my days off are guarded. I love Politics and Sports. Other than that, I pass the time by working out when I can, and reading.

What are your future goals with your writing?
I will continue writing until I reach my goal of ten books. Then I will reevaluate. Hopefully the passion that flows through my veins will still be there, and I will continue to pump out good, insightful, creative stories. I have started two chapters of a book that is very different than what I have written before. It is a dark comedy that involves ice cream, and an alter-ego. That is all I am going to say for now. I don't want the idea to slip away from me. When it comes out, it will catch on fast.

Are your books both Ebooks and paperback?
Yes! Kindle and Nook for $9.95. Paperback is a little more expensive but the new one is only $16.97. You can find it on one of the websites I listed!

What companies have your used for publishing?
I was published in 2011 by Publish America. I do, but it was really a waste of time for me. Nothing got accomplished. I will fish around when I have more books under my belt.

Do you have an editor?
I do. Her name is Adela Brito. She is from New York. I recommend her to anyone who wants honesty and hard work put into the edit. I am taking my chances with mainstream publishing for my third and fourth books.

Have you began to see a profit from your writing?
I see a profit each day with my book! I think it is the easiest profession to feel vindicated with.

Have you held any book signings?
I will be hitting the book signing scene hard, this coming spring thru fall. I didn't feel right going out there with just one book under my belt. Now that I have two, I can show people that I am for real, and not going away!

Interview with Bruce Spohn

 Where are you from?

Born in Landcaster California  but lived in Germany for 40 years 1965 - 2006

Is that where you and your family reside now?

 San Antonio, Texas

How long have you been writing?

Started when I was in High School never published.  wrote articles for the Army post news paper in Germany and have a few poems published.  I have a collection of Short Stories published in 2012.

What kind of writer would you describe yourself as?

So far YA romance, but I like SIFY a lot and might try that next

Do you have any other interests?

Love to travel and learn new cultures.  reading is high on the list.  Drinking good wine with good friends is great

What can you tell me about yourself that we haven't covered?

Hate to remove all the mystery.  I have many different outlooks on life and that has been enriched by the many years spent in Germany

What are your future goals with your writing?

Currently working of a YA Romance and after that maybe a SIFY adventure for YA.  I have been playing around with an idea for an erotic story for women that examine the way their lives are touched and how they can be pushed into living a life they never dreamed of sort of a Shades of Gray but I need to do more thought on that.

Is there any other genres that you would like to try?

 SIFY, EROTIC and maybe comedy

Are your books both Ebooks and paperback?

Yes "Christmas Treasures" is available in paperback and ebook format.

How long have you been published?

This is the first year for me and I know it is hard to get your book into the readers hands.

Do your have a literary agent?

Maybe sell it to a Hallmark as a Made for TV Christmas series. No not yet.  I am going to try to submit "Christmas Treasures" to see if I can find an agent.

Do you have an editor?

No and I have found that is an essential if you want a good published book

What companies have your used for publishing?

Publish America and Create space,.  I do not recommend Publish America they are free but give you nothing no support no advertising and they charge too much for the book so you can't sell them.  Create Space is not too costly.  They do give you free EBook conversion and they are part of Amazon so kindle is free.  They have great authors discount prices for your book and they ship at a really low price of it is easy to sell your own book and make some money.

Would you use them again?

would use Create Space again they are friendly and they give good service.

Have you began to see a profit from your writing?

I sold 200 copies of my book cost price was $3.00 per copy including shipping and I sold them for $10.00 each so I am at the break even point now.

Have you held any book signings?

I have had 3 book signings.  Two in small Indi book stores in San Antonio and one is a Senior citizen center.  Most of the books I sold were where I work.
